Enrichment Programs Building Self-Esteem & Having Fun Enrichment Opportunities In a world where many kids feel isolated and alone, enrichment programs provide a much-needed outlet for creativity and expression. They provide a safe space for kids to explore their identities and talents, without judgment or discrimination. They also offer an opportunity to build important social skills and form lasting bonds with other children. Perhaps most importantly, enrichment programs give kids a chance to have fun and just be kids. Why Enrichment Programs Are Important For Marginalized Youth When life is harsh and unforgiving, enrichment programs provide a much-needed respite for kids. All children deserve the chance to participate in enrichment programs, regardless of background or socioeconomic status. Every kid deserves the chance to shine. Only 15% of low-income kids have attended a play or concert Only 7% of low-income get to go to summer camp Students with access to arts education are 5x less likely to drop out of school Only 4% of all public elementary schools offer theatre instruction Students participating in band or orchestra have the lowest levels of alcohol, tobacco and illicit drugs use among any group in our society Low-income kids are 6 times more likely to quit sports due to costs How Enrichment Programs Can Help It is essential for all youth to have opportunities to explore their creativity and identity. Theater, music, sports, art, exploring outside, and gardening are all enrichment programs that can help youth develop important life skills. Participating in these activities can make a real difference in the lives of marginalized youth and help them reach their full potential. Helping Marginalized Kids Build Self-Esteem and Have Fun Many kids feel alone and lost in a world that can be harsh and judgemental. It's hard to be a kid these days. You have to worry about school, social media, fitting in, and so much more. It's easy to feel like you don't fit in or that you're doing something wrong. Believe in Me funds enrichment programs that offer a safe space for kids to be themselves and explore their talents. With your help, they are making friends, learning important life skills, and most importantly, having fun! Your Donation Can Make A Difference We think it's pretty amazing that there are organizations out in this world dedicated to giving marginalized youth an outlet for their creativity and identity. Not only do these programs give children safe spaces where they can explore who they truly are, without judgement or discrimination from other people around them, they also offer opportunities of importance such as building friendships with others and having fun! We make every reasonable effort to protect the safety and security of your online transaction; however we cannot and do not guarantee such safety or security. We use high-grade encryption and the “https security protocol” to communicate with your browser software. We believe this method to be the industry-standard security protocol at the time we adopted it, which makes it extremely difficult for anyone else to intercept the credit card information you send to us. We use the vital piece to internet security called SSL technology (Secure Socket Layer) Easy to detect, you’ll know you’re on a secure web page if the web address begins with “https” rather than “http” and a padlock icon appears in the status bar at the bottom of your browser. Always look for these cues before entering sensitive information such as your credit card information. SSL uses a pair of asymmetric “keys” for encryption and decryption—one a public key and the other a private key. Essentially, data is locked with one key and unlocked with another. A string of numbers and letters is randomly generated by the encryption key and accompanies each piece of secured information. A decryption key is used when it reaches its destination, thereby securing information in transit. Copyrighted Information The design and content of this website is the property of Believe in Me. Marginalization, also referred to as social exclusion, occurs when certain groups of kids do not have equal access to various resources within our society. Marginalization causes the lack or denial of resources, rights, goods, and services and the inability to participate in relationships and activities available to most people in our community. Children are especially susceptible to these forms of marginalization as their childhood experiences pave the way for their adult lives. It is our goal to bridge the gap for these marginalized kids. At Believe in Me, your donations go directly to support programs that are helping these marginalized groups of kids: Ethnicity, Race, and Origin • American Indian and Alaska Native • Asian • African American • Hispanic or Latino • Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islanders • Multi-race • Immigrant or Refugee status Economic Factors • Living in poverty or low-income households • Experiencing food insecurity • Lack of access to adequate housing or homelessness Family Dynamics • Aged out of the Foster Care system • Currently living in Foster Care or wards of the State • Adopted • Kids with incarcerated parents • Kids of unemployed parents • Children of parents with low educational attainment (e.g., did not graduate from high school or attend college) • Single-parent households Health & Ability • Physical disabilities • Mental health issues • Learning disabilities • Chronic illnesses • Substance abuse disorders Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity • LGBTQ+ identification (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, etc.) • Gender non-conforming or non-binary identity • Intersex Religious & Cultural Background • Belonging to minority religious groups Educational & Cognitive • Limited or no access to quality education • Early school leavers or dropouts • Learning difficulties not classified as disabilities Traumatic Experiences • Survivors of domestic violence, abuse, or trauma • Survivors of human trafficking • Experiences with the juvenile justice system Social & Geographic • Living in neighborhoods with high crime rates • Living in rural areas with limited access to resources or services • Isolation due to lack of technological access Language & Communication • Non-native English speakers in predominantly English-speaking regions • Lack of fluency in the dominant language(s) of the region they reside in Others • Pregnant teens or young parents • Being an out-of-place youth (e.g., city kid in a rural setting or vice versa) • Youth who are stateless or lack official documentation • Youth involved in child labor Charities We Support Volunteer with Us How to Donate How We Fundraise Get to Know Our Board of Directors Community Activist. • Grant Reporting | Believe in Me

Grant Impact Reporting Impact Reporting Dates We’ve received feedback that our previous impact reporting schedule didn’t always align well with the actual start and end dates of your programs, creating confusion and extra work. To address this, we’ve made some changes to streamline the process and make your reporting easier and more straightforward. These updates will help ensure that your reports align more accurately with your program timeline, reducing stress and simplifying the submission process. To determine your reporting dates, enter the start and end dates of your program in the application. If your program lasts more than 4 months, you will need to submit two reports: the first on the last day of the month after the halfway point, and the second at the end of your program. If your program is less than 4 months, only one report is due at the end of the month following your program’s end. Receipts are required. Example 1: Start date 1/1/2025, end date 12/31/2025—reports due on 7/31/2025 and 1/31/2026. Example 2: Start date 6/1/2025, end date 8/30/2025—report due on 9/30/2025.
