In Spokane, Viviand joined Nova Kain's cast of misfits in 2012. Since joining the troupe, Vivian has become a valuable asset with her campy brand of classic Drag and leadership. Vivian and Nova worked to maintain quality drag in the Spokane area while the clubs struggled to maintain viability as the local economies suffered in the late 2010s. In addition, Eunice is passionate about supporting the charities like the Marty 5 Children with Aids Benefit Fund. For the last 20 years, she has produced and directed this fundraiser, raising thousands of dollars, with proceeds going to The Wishing Star Foundation and Camp Starlight. In 1994 Eunice helped create The Imperial Sovereign Court of the State of Montana. She continues to help and advise this organization. Over the years, Eunice has also supported and mentored people wanting to get involved and expand their art. She encourages people to explore it and perfect it where they are comfortable. In fact, his favorite game was with his state-of-the-art Fisherprice DR bag and trusty plastic stethoscope. Years later, he was off to treat real live patients after graduating from college. Two years ago, he worked with a skilled and talented surgeon named Dr. Geoffrey Stiller. Dr. Stiller opened Stiller Aesthetics in 2019. They are a surgical practice that focuses on cosmetic and Gender Affirmation Surgery. Dr. Stiller is one of a handful of surgeons trained and qualified to complete bottom surgeries from start to finish. In 2022 Dr. Stiller was recognized as the Northwest's top Cosmetic Surgeon. Learn How To Donate Your Expertise How To Become a Believe In Me Volunteer Becoming a volunteer at Believe in Me (the Foundation) is very similar to applying for a job. After reviewing the open opportunities and reviewing our policies and procedures, the next step is to submit your resume for review. Your education, work experience, and skills will be reviewed and if you match to an open volunteer position, you will be contacted via email to set up an interview. If all goes well during the interview process, you will receive an email including a link to start your Volunteer Application. Once your application is reviewed and you are selected to volunteer, you will receive an official offer including information about when your orientation will occur. The amount of time this process takes varies, depending on how quickly you respond to email correspondence, etc. It’s as simple as that! Believe in Me is a mission-oriented organization and serves a very vulnerable population: disadvantaged youth. Background checks are necessary to protect the individuals being served by our programs and to ensure we remain eligible for continued funding. Screening our prospective volunteers also helps us to protect our assets, mitigate risk, and avoid potential liability lawsuits. Requiring background checks for all our internal stakeholders is a proactive way for us to protect the important work we are doing to help kids. Why Do We Require An Application and Background Check? If your interview goes well, you will receive an email asking you to complete the Volunteer Enrollment Form, sign the waiver of liability, submit a copy of your driver’s license, and undergo a background check. Step 5: Complete Your Volunteer Application If selected for an interview, be sure to come prepared. We are looking for candidates that are aligned with our mission and vision. You may want to prepare some samples of your work to share with the CEO. Step 4: Conduct an Interview Submit Your Resume Once submitted, your resume will be reviewed by the Foundation CEO, who is an advocate for this work. For smaller donations, an online form will help to provide a description of the gift and its fair market value. The Foundation will provide you with a gift acknowledgment form to document your gift for tax purposes. We would like to thank you for your generosity, make sure the purpose of your gift is understood by the Foundation, and recognize you as a valued donor. Expressing Gratitude Bequests can be made to the Believe in Me for a specified amount, based on a percentage of your estate value, or for a portion or entire remainder of your assets after the bequests to your family have been made. There are a few ways to make a gift to the Foundation from your estate including signing a new will or living trust, adding a codicil to your existing will, or making an amendment to a previously existing trust instrument. Another way you can leave a bequest is to designate the Foundation as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or life insurance policy. You can accomplish this by contacting the administrator of your retirement plan or your life insurance company to add the Foundation as a beneficiary using their beneficiary designation form. If you want these funds to be used for a specific purpose, you will need to draft a separate letter prepared with the help of our planned giving support team. I work alongside our board to develop and carry out our strategic plan that includes mechanisms for potential donors to make planned gifts.
